Since 6 June 2016, the Basilica of Koekelberg has been hosting an exceptional exhibition by South Korean artist Kim En Joong, a Dominican priest, painter and internationally renowned master glassmaker. This exhibition presents a selection of his works, including his famous stained glass windows, in the Basilica's gallery.
From 15 June to 18 August 2024, the Basilica of Koekelberg welcomed Bulgarian artist Dian Kostov for an exceptional exhibition entitled ‘Crossroads – The Price of Choice’. Through this immersive installation, Kostov offered a new perspective on the eternal themes of faith and humanity, inviting visitors to reflect deeply on their own choices and spiritual quest.
Ute Resh's work, presented as part of this exhibition, invites viewers to reflect deeply on suffering, resilience and hope. Through her artistic approach, Resh manages to fuse classical religious symbols with contemporary expressions, creating a dialogue between the past and the present.
The Basilica of Koekelberg welcomed Belgian artist Joshu Genku for an exceptional exhibition entitled ‘47 Paintings of Christ’. This series of paintings offered a modern and deeply personal interpretation of the figure of Christ, blending Eastern and Western influences.
The Basilica of Koekelberg hosted a delightful and astonishing exhibition: a reproduction of the Basilica made of chocolate, a temporary work of art created by master chocolatiers. This life-size model offered visitors a sweet and delicious view of one of Brussels' most iconic monuments.
The Basilica of Koekelberg, a jewel of Brussels architecture, houses a remarkable collection of stained glass windows created by Belgian master glassmakers of the 20th century. Among them, Jan Huet (1903–1976) created six windows between 1957 and 1962, depicting Belgian religious figures and groups. These works, created in a figurative and colourful style, contribute to the artistic and spiritual richness of the building.
Offer your guests an unforgettable experience in a prestigious and historic setting.
The Basilica provides exceptional spaces to host your personal events — birthdays, family celebrations, receptions — or professional events — concerts, exhibitions, conferences, galas, corporate launches.
Combining solemnity and conviviality, this iconic venue offers modular spaces adapted to your needs, turning every moment into a unique and memorable experience.
