The Basilica of Koekelberg ranks fifth among the largest churches in the world, after the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, and Santa Maria Dei Fiori in Florence.
Today, the church is primarily a place of prayer for peace. It is still used for parish celebrations and major national celebrations.
Visitors and tourists are also welcome in this beautiful building.
